How Often Should an Electric Vehicle Battery Be Replaced?
Electric vehicle batteries do not last forever. Their life is generally 2-3 years. For the same model bought at the same time, different users get different battery lives, which mainly depends on how the battery is maintained. If you follow proper practices, your battery can last more than two years.
1. Before the first use of a new electric vehicle, charge it for more than 12 hours. Afterwards, when the power is ample, 2-3 hours is enough; when the power is low, 6-7 hours.
2. The key component of an electric vehicle is the battery, the most expensive one and also the fastest to be damaged. Most electric vehicle batteries today are lead-acid batteries. Overcharging increases water loss, accelerates grid corrosion and softening of the active material, raises the chance of deformation and ultimately deals a fatal blow to the battery.
3. With proper use, an ordinary battery can serve about two years; otherwise its life is greatly shortened, and a new battery may be needed after only half a year. The price of electric vehicle batteries now runs around five hundred yuan, and no less than three hundred yuan.
