Nowadays, electric vehicles have become most people’s first choice for getting around, loved by the public for their compact size and the convenience of simply charging and riding. But why do some new batteries swell after only a short time?

First, the problem of the charger.

One, the charger has aged and its indicator light does not switch off after a long charge, so the battery keeps taking in current, its temperature rises, and it swells.

Two, the charger does not match the battery. If a 48V20A electric vehicle battery is charged with a 48V32A charger, the battery can swell in as little as three days to one week.

Next, incorrect charging methods.

Some people ride very long distances, such as office workers or those who use an electric vehicle to collect goods. When they arrive at the destination, they force a charge into the battery. Charging for twenty minutes is no problem for the battery, but some people charge for more than an hour at a time, and do so regularly. How could the battery not swell?
