High-speed motors also involve more complex production processes and higher costs than low-speed motors, priced about 200 yuan higher; famous electric vehicle brands mostly choose high-speed motors.

No-name, low-end, and assembled vehicles mostly use low-speed motors to cut costs. When buying an electric vehicle, do not make a wrong choice just because the motor sounds a bit loud. Vehicles with high-speed motors should sell for over 2000 yuan, while low-speed-motor vehicles generally sell below 2000 yuan.

Users should pay attention when buying: do not assume a motor is good merely because it is quiet and wear-free. A motor’s main indicators are efficiency and performance. The biggest weaknesses of low-speed motors are low efficiency, magnets that lose magnetism easily, heavy weight, poor performance, feeble riding feel, and high power consumption.
