How long is the general service life of an electric vehicle battery? Many people who want to buy an electric bicycle are surely concerned about this question. Although manufacturers usually claim that an electric vehicle battery can be used for 2-3 years without problem, according to our research, under normal conditions the general service life is about 2-3 years.

1. The basic service life of an electric vehicle battery

Many people are puzzled about the life of an electric bicycle battery. How long can one set of batteries be used? Why can some people use their batteries for 2-3 years while others find theirs worn out in less than a year? Just how long does an electric vehicle battery last?

In general, the lead-acid batteries used in electric bicycles are consumables with a service life of only 1.5-2.5 years, and the length of their life depends largely on the daily use and maintenance by the user.

2. Points to note when using an electric vehicle battery

If you want to extend the life of an electric vehicle battery, pay attention to the following points when using it:

1. The shallower the discharge each time, the longer the service life of the battery. No matter what capacity of battery pack you use, you should develop the good habit of recharging it after each use.

2. When the battery must be left unused for a long time, first charge it fully and then recharge it regularly, generally once every 1-2 months.

3. High-current discharge does some damage to an electric bicycle battery, so when starting and going uphill, please assist with pedaling.

With a little more careful maintenance, it can generally last 2-3 years; and with a maintainable technical solution and professional maintenance, the service time can be extended further, so it is even possible for one set of batteries to last four years.
