How to Choose a Second-hand Electric Vehicle
There are many used electric vehicles on the market today, and their prices are tempting compared with new ones. So how do you choose a good used electric vehicle?
First you should know that a good battery does not mean the whole vehicle is good, and you cannot judge the vehicle only by its appearance. Choosing a used electric vehicle involves the following steps:
1. Look. Do not just glance at the appearance of an electric vehicle; also check the condition of its tires, because tires are not a consumable part. The saddle, basket, and pedals are consumables, are cheap, and once replaced can hide the real condition, so a seller will not replace tires unless necessary. A vehicle that has not been through wind and rain is in better condition; two years of use may pass as one and you may not notice much, but by checking the wear of the tires you get a truer judgment of how the vehicle has been used.
2. Listen. Turn on the switch with the key and listen to the sound of the motor; a rumbling sound is definitely not a good motor, while a good motor runs very quietly without noise.
3. Feel and inspect. You must ride the vehicle on the road and test whether the brakes can stop it in an emergency; a good vehicle does not shake while riding, and shaking is most likely caused by a broken shock absorber or a problem with the rim or tire. Many problems can only be found in real use, so riding it on the road is necessary.
4. Observe. When the vehicle is stationary, the indicator lights are mostly full; the condition of the battery shows when the vehicle is running. If one or several lights go out at once, that means the battery has been used for a long time or is not a good battery.
5. Verify. A genuine receipt must carry the customer name, frame number, and brand of the vehicle purchased, along with the certificate of compliance and warranty card. For a more expensive vehicle, especially verify this information.
The used electric vehicle market has mixed quality, so you should pay more attention when choosing, and you may also bring a professional along to help with the purchase.
