What to Note When Installing an Electric Vehicle Battery
Everyone knows that the battery is the main part of an electric vehicle. Batteries are consumables and need to be replaced from time to time. So what should you note when installing an electric vehicle battery?
1. Before installation, check whether the battery is damaged or leaking, and clean its surface with a dry cloth. If the shell is cracked or leaking, replace the battery at once to avoid corrosion from the acid.
2. Install the batteries upright, never upside down, with a gap of more than 2 mm between adjacent batteries. Protect them from vibration and pressure, fix them firmly, and make sure they do not shift, collide, rub against each other, or get wet during use.
3. For safe use, the battery box must have ventilation holes that are not blocked, to prevent gas produced by the battery from building up inside the box.
4. Batteries ship in a charged state, so users can usually install and use them directly. If they have been stored for a long time (more than two months), give them a top-up charge before use: connect the charger to the battery box and then to a 220 V AC supply, and after the charger indicator turns green, continue charging for 1-2 hours before stopping.
5. While the electric vehicle is in use, it is best to recharge after about 80-90% of the battery capacity has been used, rather than waiting until it is completely empty. Once the battery is fully discharged, switch off the power and do not rely on the recovery voltage to force the vehicle onward, so as to avoid shortening battery life through over-discharge.
6. If the electric vehicle will not be used for a long time, charge the battery fully before storing it, and never store it in a discharged state for an extended period.
7. If continuous charging exceeds 10 hours and the charger still does not switch its indicator while the battery becomes hot, stop charging immediately and have it handled by battery after-sales service. Never continue charging when the charger fails to switch its indicator.
