With the rapid growth of the electric vehicle industry, the battery market also develops ever faster. But it is not hard to see that today electric vehicle battery market is full of tricks, and it is hard to tell a genuine battery from a fake one. Today we teach you a few simple ways to judge the quality of an electric vehicle battery.

How do you test an electric vehicle battery? First, look at its appearance for scuffs or scratch marks, then check the metal parts at the positive and negative terminals for rust. Some batteries also have an anti-counterfeit label at the seam of the shell, so check whether it is normal, as well as the printed production date.

Second, see whether old and new batteries can be used together. Connecting an old battery in parallel with a new one is like making a fast worker and a slow worker work together: the slow one is exhausted yet cannot keep up, and the fast one is worn out by the drag.

Finally, judge whether the battery has an internal short circuit. For a vehicle that has been ridden for a while or left for several hours after a full charge, measure the voltage at the charging plug: if it reads 48 V or slightly higher, the battery is normal, new or old. If it can only reach 46 V or below, one battery has a short circuit, and a 48 V vehicle has four groups, each made of six 2 V cells in series to form 12 V, and the group showing 10 V is the faulty one.

How do you test an electric vehicle battery? The above are only some simple methods we have shared. We still recommend that, when buying an electric vehicle battery, you choose a major brand as much as possible.
