Summer Maintenance Tips for Electric Vehicles
As electric vehicles become widespread, battery problems come along with them. Summer is hot and rainy, so what should you note when using an electric vehicle battery? Xupai shares the answer with you.
1. Mind the charging environment and prevent overcharging
In hot seasons, electric vehicle batteries mainly face the problem of overcharging. So in summer, try to keep the battery temperature low and ensure good heat dissipation. The best ambient temperature for charging an e-bike is 25°C, so charge the battery and charger in a well-ventilated place at about 25°C room temperature.

2. Never expose the e-bike to direct sunlight
In the high heat of summer, the battery should avoid direct sunlight. An environment that is too hot raises the internal pressure of the battery and forces its pressure-limiting valve to open automatically. The direct result is greater water loss, and excessive water loss will inevitably reduce the battery's activity, accelerate softening of the plates, and cause fatal damage such as the casing overheating, bulging, and deforming during charging.
3. Dry the e-bike promptly after rain
Summer has much rain. When storing an e-bike outdoors, it is best to take the battery out and keep it indoors. After the e-bike gets wet in the rain, do not rashly reinstall the battery and power on, as this may cause a short circuit. After heavy rain, put the e-bike in a ventilated place to air dry.
