How to Maintain Electric Vehicle Tires
Because electric vehicles are convenient and eco-friendly, they are loved by many, but their tires often need to be replaced. So how can you make e-bike tires last longer? Xupai shares some tire maintenance tips with you.
1. Check the tire pressure often and inflate any under-inflated tire promptly. Keep the pressure consistent across all tires; otherwise the tire with lower pressure wears faster, riding resistance increases, and faults such as the vehicle pulling to one side may occur. In summer the tire pressure should be slightly lower than in winter, to avoid a high-temperature blowout while riding in summer.
2. Avoid hitting obstacles. When the vehicle is moving fast, a tire striking a pothole or other obstacle is severely squeezed and deformed between the obstacle and the rim flange. This can break the cords in the tire body, and the air inside pushes out at the broken point, forming a bulge. In serious cases, the sidewall can rupture and the tire can lose air suddenly.

3. Have regular wheel alignment and dynamic balancing tests done; this is very important. Surveys show that inaccurate alignment (such as camber, caster, and toe) can cause uneven tire wear, seriously affecting the tire's service life.
4. Frequently remove stones or foreign objects from the tread grooves to prevent deformation of the tire crown. Check the sidewall for scratches or punctures and for exposed cords, and replace the tire promptly if you find any.
5. Do not start off too hard, use sudden braking as little as possible, and slow down on curves to reduce tire wear.
6. In summer the tire temperature is high, and friction between the tires and the ground during long rides keeps raising it. At such times, do not cool the tires with cold water; instead, stop and rest to let the temperature come down gradually.
The above are the tire maintenance tips compiled here. We hope they are helpful.
