On August 31, 2017, the three-day 3rd China (South Africa) Trade Expo opened at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. Xupai battery was invited to take part in this exhibition.

After the three-day 4th China (Egypt) Trade Expo of 2017 ended, Xupai battery hurried straight on to South Africa to join the 3rd China (South Africa) Trade Expo.                                        

South Africa is Africa’s largest economy, sitting where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet and serving as the trade hub of the whole of Southern Africa. Thanks to its geographic advantages it radiates widely: its market reaches nearly 100 million people, and its sales market spans the whole of Africa and even developed regions such as Europe and North America.

It is reported that South Africa’s total imports and exports account for about 20% of Africa’s trade, and that it is the continent’s economic, financial, transport and political center. Opening the South African market is effectively entering the five-country Southern African Customs Union market and the twelve-country Southern African Economic Community market.

Since the two countries formally established diplomatic relations on January 1, 1998, bilateral trade has grown steadily and quickly, rising by about US$200 million each year. According to past statistics, China is South Africa’s 9th-largest trading partner and South Africa is China’s largest trading partner in Africa. In 2011 total bilateral trade reached US$19.67 billion, cementing China as South Africa’s largest trading partner, largest export destination and largest source of imports.
