Ten Tips for Daily Use and Maintenance of Electric Vehicles and Batteries

We live in an era of information explosion. Information is vast and complex, and useful parts must be filtered out by ourselves, with some omissions unavoidable. Here we have collected some common tips on electric vehicle battery maintenance. Let us take a look!
1. Keep the habit of charging a lead-acid battery regularly during use. Do not wait until the battery is fully drained before charging, as this affects battery life. If it is not used for a long time, give it a replenishment charge every1-3months. Please use the original dedicated charger.
2. Try not to use zero-start on the electric vehicle, because the starting current is large, close to or even reaching the stall current, forcing the battery to work at high current and accelerating its damage.
3. Reduce frequent braking and re-acceleration, and do not overload or speed (such as deliberately removing the speed limiter). While riding, also try to avoid severe bumps and vibration that shock the controller, contacts, connectors and motor bearings.
4. In rain or standing water, do not let water reach the center of the wheel hub. Turn off the ignition when getting off the vehicle, and keep the tires fully inflated. If a fault occurs, send the vehicle to the authorized maintenance center designated by the manufacturer.
5. According to usage, clean and lubricate the front axle, rear axle, bottom bracket, freewheel, front fork and the pivot points of the shock absorbers every six months to1year (molybdenum disulfide grease is recommended). The transmission parts inside the electric wheel hub are already coated with special lubricating oil and need not be cleaned and lubricated by yourself.
6. Maintain the brakes in time to keep them sensitive and reliable with proper stroke, not rubbing the hub when released. Replace the brake shoes in time when they wear too thin. Check that the front and rear wheels turn smoothly: after a light push they should coast freely for a long time and tend to reverse slightly at the moment they stop; otherwise adjust the axle cones.
7. Turn off the ignition lock when the vehicle is not being ridden, to avoid no-load power consumption of the controller, battery indicator and other circuit components.
8. Do not turn the battery upside down when charging, and try to charge it fully in one session. If you smell something unusual or the battery becomes too hot during charging, stop charging immediately and send it to the technical department for inspection. When removing the battery for charging, do not touch the two electrodes with wet hands or metal objects such as keys, to avoid electric burns.
9. Wipe the vehicle frequently, regularly oil the parts that need lubrication such as brakes and transmission mechanisms, tighten the nuts and screws on the front and rear axles and the handlebar that tend to loosen, and regularly wipe the plated metal surfaces with oil to remove rust and prevent corrosion.
10. Keep the electric vehicle away from rain and direct sun. In bad weather, strictly prevent water from entering the motor and battery and prevent excessive exposure to strong sunlight.

Special reminder: the battery is the heart of an electric vehicle. When choosing a battery, prefer a high-quality brand battery with a good reputation, such as Xupai battery. Xupai batteries are of very solid quality with good service. Sales, customer service, technical support and repair are very well established, so consumers can receive better after-sales service.
